What do I do if I have a question about a training or need some advice?

Is there a cap on the number of people I can register overall or for a given class?

There is no set limit per store. The only limiting factor is the maximum number of participants established for each instructor-led class (classroom or virtual classroom).

What happens when a planned training is full?

Once the maximum number of participants has been reached for a given session, additional registration requests will be placed on a waiting list. If there are enough people on the waiting list and a trainer and suitable locale are available, the Academy will be pleased to open a new training session.
[Note: the Academy will refuse entry to non-registered participants who present themselves for a training session that is full.]

What happens when the minimum number of participants for a planned instructor-led training or virtual classroom has not been reached?

In the event this happens, the training will need to be cancelled. Stores who registered participants will be notified and their employees will be placed on a waiting list.

Can I request additional instructor-led training for my store or region?

You are welcome to submit such requests. The minimum number of required participants must be reached and a trainer as well as a suitable locale is available.

The Academy limits the right and may refuse certain additional training, such as those provided by external suppliers. [Note: an additional charge to cover unplanned expenses may also apply.]

What happens in the event that one of my employees is unable to attend the training?

You have up to 5 business days prior to the session to cancel a registration. Participants’ substitution to a training are accepted until the day of training (substitution excludes a participant who has already started Discover the Leader in You! Program).
[Note: Stores may be charged a penalty for each registered participant that doesn’t show up. The penalty is $50 for courses up to 4 hours in duration and $100 for courses that are longer.]

My store(s) is (are) subject to Bill 90. Will I be able to claim the Academy’s training?

Yes. The Academy will continue to renew its CERTIFICAT D’AGRÉMENT with Emploi-Québec and we will continue to track the courses your store takes, the number and names of employees trained, and the number of hours of training. We can also provide you with a summary of the training invoices at the end of each calendar year (if required).
